Join us for storytime this Tuesday (February 2) at 10:30. We will have a special guest from the Dental Alliance to share proper dental care techniques with us. She has a GIANT set of teeth for practicing and a fun story. (Everyone who attends receives a special gift!)
We’re having a Bookmark Contest

ACPL is having a “Design a Bookmark” contest. The winning entries will be printed in color for National Library Week, which is April 11-17, 2010.
Here are the rules:
- Design a bookmark with the “Communities Thrive @ your library” theme.
- Turn in the bookmark at any Allen County Public Library by the deadline (Saturday, February 27, 2010).
- Bookmarks must be created on the template that is available for pickup at the branch. (It’s at the desk!) Submissions made on other paper will not be judged.
- The design may be created with crayons, colored pencils, markers and/or watercolors. Remember, winning bookmarks must be reproducible!
- The winning bookmark in each category will be made into bookmarks and available during National Library Week.
- Winners will be judged on originality, creativity, neatness and printability.
- Age categories are 0-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-17, and adult.

Join us for stories, rhymes, songs, and a craft at our Smart Start preschool storytimes. We will have stories with the following topics:
Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th, 10:30: Opposites
Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th, 10:30: Chickens
Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th, 10:30: Friendship
Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th, 10:30: Groundhogs
We also have a Born to Read storytime for babies and toddlers on Tuesdays at 10:15. We sing, dance, read a book or two, and have lots of fun!
Paws to Read!

Dogs are great listeners! On the first and third Wednesday of each month, Bouncer, our Paws to Read volunteer dog will be here to listen as you practice your reading skills. Which book will you pick to read? She will be here next on Wednesday, December 16th from 4:30 – 5:30 pm. Readers take turns at time allows.
